Quick Step Guide – Managing Users in Pontem
Access User Maintenance
- Log in as the System Administrator using ‘SYSDBA’ as the login name.
- Select Edit | Adjust System Preferences | Security | Users.
Add a New User
- Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
- Click the ‘New User’ button.
- Type the User Name, Password and Confirm Password.
- Click OK.
- Highlight the User Name just added in the list to assign rights.
- Click the ‘Groups’ button.
- Assign the Group by moving it to the right under ‘This Users Groups’.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.
Delete a User
- Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
- Highlight the User Name in the list.
- Click the ‘Delete User’ button.
- Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.
Change a User’s Password
- Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
- Click ‘Edit User’ button.
- Type in the Password and Confirm Password.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.
Change a User’s Group Rights
- Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
- Highlight the User Name in the list to assign the appropriate rights.
- Click ‘Groups’.
- Assign the Group by moving it to the right under ‘This Users Groups’.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.
