Quick Step Guide – Managing Users in Pontem

 

Access User Maintenance 

  1. Log in as the System Administrator using ‘SYSDBA’ as the login name.
  2. Select Edit | Adjust System Preferences | Security | Users.

Add a New User 

  1. Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
  2. Click the ‘New User’ button.
  3. Type the User Name, Password and Confirm Password.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Highlight the User Name just added in the list to assign rights.
  6. Click the ‘Groups’ button.
  7. Assign the Group by moving it to the right under ‘This Users Groups’.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.

Delete a User 

  1. Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
  2. Highlight the User Name in the list.
  3. Click the ‘Delete User’ button.
  4. Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.

 

Change a User’s Password 

  1. Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
  2. Click ‘Edit User’ button.
  3. Type in the Password and Confirm Password.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.

 

Change a User’s Group Rights 

  1. Navigate to User Maintenance (see above).
  2. Highlight the User Name in the list to assign the appropriate rights.
  3. Click ‘Groups’.
  4. Assign the Group by moving it to the right under ‘This Users Groups’.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the ‘Preferences’ window and save the record.
